Mountain Trail Quilt Along

Lori hosted a quilt along for a wonderful project she called "Mountain Trail". I made my blocks from a Vintage Modern charm pack and used a cherry Kona cotton for the trail.
Sewing the blocks was very fun but then I couldn't decide which layout I liked the best - to see the options click here. The comments on that blogpost were quite varied and increased my indecisiveness...
which is sometimes the kiss of death for my projects, and they start their slow march to the UFO closet!
But Lori is hosting a parade of Mountain Trail projects, so I finally had to just make a decision and go with it. I'm not sure if the border is too wide and might end up cutting it back - what do you think? I have more of the red Kona for the binding.
I really really like this angle to view the quilt, and think that I might end up making another quilt using this same block pattern, and an on pointe layout (or one of the other layouts that I also really like LOL!).

Such a pretty quilt and I like the border, any smaller and you will lose some of the flowers and the flowers are what tie the colors all together - great job.

Gorgeous fabric choice and a pretty quilt so far. But I do see a goof perhaps, the bottom 2 right blocks are not going in the same direction and the correct flow as all of the other blocks in the first photograph towards the top of this post. Did you already have them sewn in to a top? Jane

Very pretty quilt! Great job on getting the top together. I don't think the border is too wide.....especially if that gets it to the size you wanted! A red binding is perfect.
Are you planning to hand quilt this one?

I love your border size. It's perfect! What a nice color way to make such a pretty quilt! Love the strong line the red gives us to see. You sure do get a lot done! :-)

I like the on point layout, too. It makes it look like a braid quilt that way.

Love your header with the beautiful fall leaves in the background! Your Mountain Trail quilt is beautiful too - the border brings it all together beautifully. Did you change the right hand corner two squares as someone else pointed out? I hate that when that happens to me!

Kathy, you've made a gorgeous little quilt!! i decided to make two smaller trail quilts, rather than one biggish mountain trail. It was a fun project:)) cheers...Marian
