Design Wall Monday?

illustration of a question mark puzzle Stock Photo - 8544512Well, this is a weird Monday post.
For the first time since I started doing "Design Wall Monday" blog posts (a very long time) I have no idea what is on my design wall! I haven't looked at it for a while. I presume it's the same thing as last Monday??! I've only been doing fabric cutting and hand stitching while at my brother's house. I am starting to crave machine time. And I mean crave, as in totally preoccupied with needing to sit and sew something.
Has this ever happened to you???

Yes! There have been times when the ONLY stitching I ever could squeeze into my life was once a month when I met with my Mom and sisters for our "Quilt Club". Many times I would begin to gather my machine and supplies to go only to realize I hadn't touched them since the last meeting a month ago. When this happened several times in a row I found myself unhappy and stressed. I NEEDED my therapy time with my machine and fabric. I didn't really do much hand work at the time.
Now that I have a sewing room of my own I can squeeze in time to stitch without the major effort of setting up and taking down each time, and I am a much happier camper.

I wish I could lend you a machine - give your fingers and your mind a place to go....you're not anywhere near Austin,TX, are you?

I'm going to be in that boat in another week or two! I find after not being able to sew for a bit I get a wee bit cranky. Hubby even tells me to go into my room and sew! =)

Seems like there is a theme happening...time in the sewing room on the machine or just fondling the fabric is way cheaper than any other therapy! Here's hoping you get some machine time soon!!

oh yes I am the same way--even when busy quilting I feel the need to stop and sew something for a little bit. hope you get a machine session in soon!

I know what you mean...I've been away for the past 5 days and this morning I couldn't wait to sew some blocks. Guess we're all the same!

When we moved 6 years ago, I could only sew on the weekends when we went to my sister's to do laundry. I ended up staring a new project, I missed sewing so badly.

I also get in a funk when my Sewing time is limited. I hope your brother will be able to go longer without needing your help soon. Take care.

Oh yes indeed! I'm suffering from it right now. I'm traveling in NC visiting with family and have been away from my machine for over a week. While here, my daughter has suffered a medical crises in TN. Thankfully her MIL was able to go be with her until I get there, so when I leave here tomorrow, I'll be rushing to her side - no sewing in my immediate future and I'm definitely craving it!

Yep this happened to me last week... So I made slabs for Alberta. I've been doing a lot of hand work lately so it was nice to buzz some things through the machine :-)
